Strengthening our Non-Destructive Testing services with the acquisition of AWL
Our customers and our people come before everything else across the British Engineering Services Group and that will never change. We’re focused on ensuring we can always meet our customer needs and are delighted to share that we have welcomed AWL Inspection and NDT Services to the Group as a result.
The South Shield based Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) business will help strengthen our existing NDT offering as we continue to position ourselves for ongoing growth. Like our specialist Salford based team, AWL provides their customers with services including magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and ultrasonic testing and have extensive experience with pipeline projects.
Established in 1987, the family run business has a fantastic reputation for always delivering the very best service. They’re focused on the safety of their customers and already share the British Engineering Services Group priority of helping make Britain and Ireland a safer place.
“This is another fantastic acquisition for our company. The brilliant AWL team have the same passion, drive and enthusiasm we enjoy across the wider British Engineering Services Group. Their people are experts in the world of NDT and will really reinforce the services provided by our existing team. Adding another NDT business to our Group has been a focus of ours for some time as we look to enhance both our capacity and our customer base in this field and AWL was an obvious choice,” said Dave Vaughan, MD of Testing and Consultancy.
“AWL’s reputation and market strength is impressive, and we’re delighted to have them on board. Adding them to the Group will undoubtedly strengthen our wider customer proposition as we continue to focus on leveraging cross-sell opportunities,” commented Gareth Hilton, Chief Commercial Officer.
Emma Williamson, NDT Manager for AWL, commented, “We’ve really enjoyed getting to know more about the British Engineering Services Group over the last few weeks and we’re looking forward to being part of the team. This is a great move all round and we’re confident it will help ensure a brilliant future for everyone involved,” said Emma.
This is the fourth acquisition for the Group since 2019 and follows UK Road Tanker Inspections, PCMS Eng and Lantei. Continuing to add specialist companies to our business has already helped really differentiate us in our market as we continue to focus on delivering an end-to-end service that meets our customer’s needs. Finding businesses that not only reinforce or complement our existing offering, but are also a great cultural fit is important to us and we’re delighted to have done just that with all of our acquisitions so far.
